Free yourself with the joy of Etegami = “Picture Letters”
I’ve loved Etegami immediately. In fact, I loved it when I didn’t even know what it was! I’ve seen various logos created in this style since I’ve lived in Japan, but didn’t know what it was even called until summer 2020.
“E”= picture; “tegami” = letter
Picture letter. That’s just what it is.
You create outline drawings with sumi black ink, bamboo brushes and japanese watercolor paints called “gansai” on washi postcard paper. Then you add words right there on the front of the card. You make it, and you mail it!
This informal style of drawing and painting is a wonderful way to communicate little joys of your life with friends and family.

Location : Classes will be held at a location in Nishiazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

Price : ¥5,000 yen per person + ¥1,000 materials for the day = ¥6,000 yen
(can purchase all materials to take away for additional ¥5,000)
